Things to do

Starting right outside our front door is the magnificent Andalusian country-side with it's wide open landscapes and rolling hills and mountains. A stay at Casa Nove is the perfect base for activities such as walking, painting and bird watching.

After a long day trekking around the country-side be sure to make your way up to the Monastery in Saliente where you enjoy a meal at their restaurant while enjoying the breath-taking views.

It's just a short 40 minute drive to the relaxing beaches of Vera, Mojacar and Garrucha. Seaside activities include the many beach bars and restaurants, scuba-diving & snorkeling, sailing or, of course, just walking and lazing on the beach.

If it's a fun family outing you're looking for then you can't go past the Vera Aqua Park. The "aqua" park is full of water slides, wave machines and swimming pools.

Feel the need for speed? Not far from Vera, in Garrucha is Karting Garrucha. There are two tracks, one for children from 5 - 12 and the other for 12 year olds and up.

How about a round or two of golf? No problem there is a world class golf course on the coast, Valle del Este.

Another great family outing is Mini-Hollywood in Tabernas where you can experience life in the wild-west of America. It may seem like a strange place for such a theme park, but Tabernas was once a hub of activity for the film industry and many great films such as, A Fistful of Dollars, Doctor Zhivago and Lawrence of Arabia where shot in this region.

Slightly further afield, but well worth the drive is the dramatic and rugged mountain range of the Sierra Nevada. The skiing season is generally open from November to April.

Don't forget to save a day or two for shopping. There are many great bargains to be found both in nearby Albox and in Mojacar too.
